Wood Window Screens
No historic house is complete without beautiful hand-crafted wooden screens and/or storm windows. And we make them just like the original craftsmen did in the early 1900's. We use Spanish cedar for the frame, a decorative grillwork as needed and interior screen molding. These are built with mortise and tenon joints, they are custom made to fit in your windows, whether for old or new windows. We mill our own wood from kiln dried lumber and can make exact replicas of original screens. If you have a design in mind, send us a sketch or a picture and we can make them for you. Screens have a tremendous impact on the appearance of a house — they give it style, character and authenticity, plus they provide a very important function when your windows are open! Storm windows look the same as screens they just have glass instead of screen. They make the windows perform well thermally during the extreme temperature seasons, and they protect your windows and they look great!
