Grimes County Courthouse

Grimes County Courthouse

The Grimes County Courthouse was built in 1893. It was constructed of hand molded red brick and limestone. This is the fifth courthouse in Grimes County. The previous buildings were all destroyed by fire. This courthouse project included the full restoration of 76 windows that had significant air infiltration, numerous areas of wood rot, and failing paint and glazing.  Our work included adding metal "concealed interlocking" weather stripping, repairs to damaged wood and replica replacement sashes as needed. The sashes were glazed, painted and reinstalled. This project was started in August 2014 and completed in November 2014.   It was an honor to work on this beautiful building!
