Wood Windows

Your original wood windows, also called “sash-weighted” windows, are an essential part of your house — the way it looks, its charm and its history. These windows, connected by ropes (or sash cord) to weights inside the walls, were hand crafted out of quality materials by the craftsman of that era. But after decades of neglect, they often are painted shut and not working — or worse, drafty and falling apart.

Imagine opening your windows with two fingers instead of both arms and your back. Almost all windows of this era open on top and bottom allowing you to quickly and efficiently cool and “air out” your house. These windows can also be weather stripped and insulated to improve their energy efficiency.
